Valentina Mihaela Ghinea, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Culture dynamics and a previous one in Risk evaluation in e-Business. She started her career as an import-export specialist, then she developed her team management skills and knowledge by running small teams in the insurance field and subsequently in the NGOs field. Her project OPEN for Business was started in 2012, helping at fostering the faculty’s collaboration with the business environment, by signing partnerships with more than 20 companies and thus providing students with numerous internships and hiring opportunities. Conferences, workshops, and other extra-curricular activities were organized with the aim of developing the students’ entrepreneurial skills. Since 2018, OPEN for Business has been a self-contained organization running also the project „Profesor de nota 10” that has reached its third edition.
Valentina has also practical experience in creative-related fields: she paints and writes novels. She exhibited her work in several cultural settings and she published three children’s and young adults’ books.
In the academic field, Valentina Mihaela Ghinea was part of different research teams in national projects, and she authored academic papers, books, and chapters in her research areas of interest. In 2008 and 2011, she was a visiting professor to ENSAM Cluny, France, lecturing on communication and organizational culture. Certified as a trainer, she trained employees from the business sector.
